Library Facilities -Sources
BOOKS: The library has a collection of about 5,000 books. The main focus is on Commerce, Economics, Industry, Law, Management, Banking and Taxation with representative items on a variety of other subjects. The books are arranged subject-wise and there is a computerized catalogue of the books.
PERIODICALS:The library receives over 400 periodicals, including some complimentary items. Recent issues are displayed to be used by readers for current information. Back volumes of some titles are also available, besides bound copies of important journals. The library maintains a computerised index of important journal articles in order to quickly provide a list of recent articles on a topic. A publication of special interest to those seeking information on Industry and Finance, is the Monthly review of the Indian Economy, published by the CMIE.
NEWSPAPER CLIPPING FILES: The library subscribes to around 30 Indian newspapers. It also provides a very special service i.e newspaper clippings culled from 12 important newspapers. Important items from those newspapers are cut out and filed topic-wise. The library maintains such files on nearly 600 topics.
DIRECTORIES: This section contains about 150 items. These include trade directories from india and other publications giving information about commercial and industrial organizations, products, production capacity,textile industry etc.
PAMPHLETS AND BROCHURES: These cover a wide range of topics, and are kept in sorted order, grouped broadly by their content.
REPORTS: Over 200 reports of committees and commissions are available. Annual reports of ministries and selected commercial organizations are also maintained for reference.
CD-ROMs: The Library has a growing collection of CD-ROMs on commercial topics.
